Acacia Counseling - Domonique Rood, M.S

From my experience with him as a co-facilitator and with the clients I have worked with, I have come to hold high regard for his clinical judgment and professionalism.

The encouragement he provides to his clients is infectious. Chris has a sincerity that allows him to communicate difficult and sometime painful information to his clients, in a way that they are willing to accept and integrate. Furthermore, he has a unique skill at relating remote impressions to provide clarity in perspective. This further facilitates the collaborative working relationship he establishes with his client; it is from these relationships that he promotes change and healing.

As a colleague, I look to Chris for professional consultation. Discussion of various ethical and legal issues with Chris assist in the refinement of my own professional opinion and practice.

Sincerely,
Domonique H. Rood, M.S.

Lawyer's Assistance Program - Louis Buchhold, MFT, ATR-BC

Read Letter

I had the opportunity to work with Mr. Suchanek in May of 2006 when he did an intervention with a prospective applicant to the Lawyer's Assistance Program. He was direct, clean, focused, very professional and worked well with the struggling client and the client's family. Through his work and detailed attention the client was able to move from a place of denial and resistance to acceptance of the problem and entered a 30-day recovery program. Mr. Suchanek was also on top of contacting and arranging meetings with other agencies/organizations to ensure the best benefit and support to the client. Working with him was a very positive and smooth experience.

I would recommend him and call him in the future.

Sincerely,
Louis Buchhold, MFT, ATR-BC

Doctors Hospital - John K. Smith, Ph.D, LCSW

Read Letter

I am writing this letter on behalf of Chris Suchanek. I have had the pleasure of knowing Chris for approximately three years. I have witnessed his personal and professional growth during this time and have been impressed by his ability to grasp complex concepts and ideas and immediately put them into practice.

While I have known Chris primarily in his role as a student in the Alcohol and Drug Counseling program at Mt. San Antonio College, I have also begun to know Chris as professional in the Chemical Dependency treatment field. He is very engaging and has a very strong, empathic presence. He is also very competent and ethical in his delivery of professional services. He can be counted on to follow through with his commitments and responsibilities.

Sincerely,
John K. Smith, Ph.D., LCSW

"Chris Suchanek guided us through our family intervention several months ago, and we would highly recommend his services again. What impressed us most was not only the intervention itself but also all of his careful consideration and planning that led up to the actual event. His professional and competent manner, along with a personal commitment to making us all feel comfortable and at ease, makes Chris Suchanek a natural at his profession."

"I don't think anyone believes that there is a time when they will need the services of an interventionist. You're confused as to who to turn to for help when the person you love is in trouble. The moment you meet Chris there is a subtle process that begins. He asks important questions, listens intently and quickly gets a grasp of your unique situation. He meets the family and friends involved in the intervention and gets them to focus on the task at hand and help put aside any unresolved feelings of anger or uncertainty.

Chris navigates the process with an underlining strength of knowing the direction he wants to go and yet also believes in having family co-faciliate with him so you have a voice in getting the best possible outcome for your loved one. The instinct he has for people and the subtle touch he uses in difficult situations is his greatest gift."
